Kids

Are you thinking “I’M JUST A KID, WHAT CAN I DO FOR GOD?”

Wow, that’s a great question and the Bible has great answers. What you do as a kid can affect the rest of your life. God has given us the POWER to CHOOSE to do what we want to do. Now, you may have already discovered that if you don’t choose to do what you’ve been asked to do by Mom or Dad there are consequences. They are trying to teach you that if you do RIGHT and OBEY, things go well and your are blessed. BUT if you do WRONG and DISOBEY, things can get unpleasant. Don’t get upset with them…they are doing the job God has asked them to do! Be pleased that they love you enough to make sure those consequences bother you enough to make RIGHT DECISIONS.  Lots of kids need parents like yours.

Here are some of the important things you can do as a kid that will make you happy and honor God as the same time:

You can CALL UPON HIM! Psalm 55:16 says, “As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.” Tons of kids in the world don’t know that God is real, that He loves them, that they can call upon Him. He loves it when people call upon Him. That shows that they know He’s God and He’s there. They still need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, but knowing God is real is a start to them trusting Jesus.

You can PRAY! “Pray without ceasing.” the Bible says in I Thessalonians 5:17 That means you can talk to God all day long. He has wisdom and strength for you as you study, do your chores or play.  He LOVES hearing from YOU!

You can WALK WITH JESUS! “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” Colossians 2:6
No matter where you go or what you have to do, he is right there with you (if you have asked him to forgive you of your sin and come into your heart)

You can TRUST HIM! Others may have let you down or betrayed you but the LORD never will. Psalm 118:8 says, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” Proverbs 3:5 & 6 say, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” The Lord will keep you and guide you the right path.

You can WORK for Him! The Bible says in John 9:45, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no make can work.” You can tell your friends about God’s Son, Jesus Christ and how he died so their sins could be washed away. Tell how he has a home in Heaven for those that are forgiven. You can pass out tracts and make sure you get to class in Sunday School and church, even bring friends!

You can HIDE! Yes, hide his word in your heart! Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might sin against thee.”

You can OBEY! “Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.” Colossians 3:20
