Moms

This page is for those who still have those precious little darlings at home…even if they are now taller than you! The part you have in your child’s life is so very important. A Mother’s words and actions, can affect a child for their entire life. Let’s desire to do it right in God’s eyes.

My goal in providing the following is to impart a vision and foundation for you in training and teaching the children God has given you.

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Psalm 127:3

In the final analysis they are not for us, they are for the Lord.

The task at hand regarding your influence to your children is multifaceted. It’s my desire to give you a consecrated vision and an ultimate goal in your mothering. If we have clear and correct vision of the goal in mind for them it will enable us to stay focused in all the little moments it takes to get there even if there are distractions along the way.

You are likely not just ‘starting out’ with your kids. You may have already seemingly failed to do as right as you could have or should have BUT start today. The Lord will bless a new start and the worthiest accomplishments take devoted time and energy. Changes don’t happen instantly nor without real effort to make them. Rejoice however, in that you desire to …begin again and do it right in God’s eyes!

Think about how you learned the greatest lessons in life. Was it because someone talked to you or taught as if in a classroom. Most likely it was by example. The King James Bible uses a totally appropriate term, ‘ensample’ meaning a living example. Maybe someone stood by your side and step by step helped you learn to do a task or craft. They they had you do the same thing and the lesson stuck.

Think about how you teach the children in your life…not talking about home schooling on all the subjects. But that daily “instilling” drop by drop they are learning by your ensample. Your submission and trust in Almighty God, how your relate to the people you pass day by day. How you’ve prepared yourself for the day, ordered your schedule, your home, your duties, how you use your money. How you respond to the events of life that interrupt or disappoint. All these are speaking to your children. Are you satisfied that you’ve shown yourself as a godly ensample or are YOU in your own person dealing with the issues of life.

All Christian Mothers should have these goals for their children:

  1. That they would become: Born-again (John 3:3)

  2. Surrendered to Him (Romans 12:1)

  3. NOT conformed to this world (Romans 12:2)

  4. Obedient to the Word of God (Psalm 119:2)

  5. Submissive to God’s will and purposes (James 4:7)

  6. Comforted by God’s grace no matter how difficult the circumstances (James 4:6)

  7. Bold and trusting in the Lord no matter what the challenge (Ephesians 6:10-17)

  8. Prepared to tell others the Gospel message and truths of the Bible (Titus 2:7-15)

Striving for the mastery as a Mom requires that we be wholehearted in all that God asks.
